Plaid Cymru candidate, Catrin Wager has been visiting rural shows across the new constituency of Bangor Aberconwy over the summer, and she emphasises her support for these events.
As Catrin explains;
"I believe we can tackle some of the huge challenges we face by looking close to home. There is strength within our communities, and by acting at a local level, we can begin to rebuild our economy, create a sustainable future, and reconnect as individuals.
"Our rural shows demonstrate the essential role the agricultural industry plays in building this better future. The farmers of Bangor Aberconwy produce quality food, and it is important that they get the support they deserve. But our family farms are also the backbone of rural communities, sustaining our culture, traditions and language, and rural shows are a celebration of that.
"We can create a more sustainable future, in many ways, by supporting our local food industry and our farmers, and by doing so, we can ensure that special community traditions such as our rural shows continue."
"From Dyffryn Ogwen to Llanraeadr, Llansannan to Ysbyty Ifan, the welcome has been warm across the constituency, and I would like to thank everyone who is part of these shows, whether organisers or competitors, for their hard work - you are part of something very special."
